Place an exchange order from an offer
Check the amount, receiving destination and payment path before confirming a trade.
Sign in and complete the verification required for your account. Have an amount within the offer’s limits and access to the required payment method. If spending NGN to buy EGP, fund your NGN wallet first.
Create your order
- Open P2P, select the corridor and direction, then open a merchant offer.
- Enter I want to pay in the shown currency. Check the merchant’s amount range and I will receive (Estimated).
- When receiving EGP, complete Payout Destination, provider, receiving identifier, holder name and any necessary location notes.
- Read Merchant Terms and check the payment window and availability. Choose Place Order only when ready to proceed.
- Wait for the order page. Review Exchange Summary, Locked Rate and the actual status before taking another action.
Which payment path applies?
- NGN wallet → EGP: order creation checks and reserves your available NGN funds, then advances to Merchant Processing Payout. Do not make a second manual transfer.
- Manual-payment path: if the order is MATCHED and shows Merchant Payment Account, follow only that order’s payment instructions and deadline. Upload genuine proof after paying.
- The final order is the authority for the amount and next step. Do not pay using a preview, chat-only replacement details or an expired order.
If Place Order fails
Correct missing payout fields, an out-of-range amount or insufficient wallet balance. If the offer has lost capacity, choose another. If a request times out, check Orders for an already-created order before submitting again.
If the issue continues, contact PayTali support with the relevant order or payment reference and the error message. Never include your password, verification codes, full BVN or full NIN.
