Understand merchant collateral and trading capacity
Keep security backing separate from wallet spending and customer settlement.
Merchant security collateral backs merchant obligations and can be affected by fees, active exposure and dispute outcomes. It serves a different purpose from a customer’s settlement payment or spendable NGN wallet.
Review your desk
- Open the merchant desk.
- Read the deposit balance, required deposit, floor, active exposure and available capacity shown for your account.
- Check active orders before assuming the full deposit is available for a new offer or withdrawal.
- If your desk is restricted or figures conflict, contact support before sending more funds or changing offers.
Why capacity can change
Open orders reserve exposure. Fees or dispute-related entries can also affect eligible backing. A deposit total alone does not prove that a merchant can accept another order; eligibility is checked again when an order is created.
Policy confirmation required
The approved level and collateral policy is being reconciled with existing deposit, wallet and onboarding implementations. Their displayed amounts and currencies are not currently a consistent verified schedule. This Help Center deliberately does not publish those conflicting figures or promise automatic reactivation. Ask support to confirm your applicable requirement, eligible funding route and withdrawal restrictions before a financial action.
Keep separate purposes separate
Do not treat a wallet top-up as confirmed collateral funding or a collateral payment as an order payment. Keep the payment reference and verify which balance was credited. Collateral is not a savings product or a promise of insurance.
